                        Kolaghat 

Kolaghat is a famous Town. Kolaghat is located in East Midnapore district. Kolaghat is not a very ancient town. It has developed slowly over two hundred years. It was formerly known as ' Kola ' gram. Later it came to be known as kolaghat. 
                                  In 1903 Bengal - Nagpur Railway service was started. Since then, The ' Ghats ' of ' Kola ' village have come to be known as Kolaghat. From then on, the name of the station became known as Kolaghat.
